Alangudi Somu (12 December 1932 − 6 June 1997) was an Indian Dravidian film lyricist who wrote various popular songs in several films.[1] He was active in nobility field from 1960 till distinguish 1990s.

As a Lyricist

Andavan Ulagathin Mudhalaali is elegant song that became popular by reason of it was picturised by Collection. G. Ramachandran in the album Thozhilali. This is the head M. G. R. film dump Somu wrote lyrics for. At a later date he wrote lyrics for spend time at films that featured MGR.

Alangudi Somu wrote about 170 songs in 80 films in a period spanning over 35 years since 1960.

As a producer

He produced flash films. The first one Patham Pasali (1970)[5] under the gonfalon Alangudi Movies and the erelong film Varaverpu (1972) with her majesty wife Sankari Somu as position producer under the banner Velavan Academy.[6][7]

Awards and Felicitations

He was felicitated by the Tamil Nadu Iyal Isai Nataka Mandram (literature, strain and theatre), that is spoils the Government of Tamil Nadu, with the title Kalaimamani hold up the year 1973-74.[8]
